Frequently Asked Questions
How does the readiness score work?
LiftIQ calculates your daily readiness from four signals: heart rate variability (35%), sleep (25%), resting heart rate (20%), and recent training load (20%) — pulled from Apple Health if you've connected a wearable. No wearable? The 10-second manual check-in (sleep, soreness, energy sliders) does the same job. A higher score means you're recovered and ready to push; lower means back off. LiftIQ adjusts your next workout's loads ±10–15% accordingly.
What devices does LiftIQ work with?
Any device that writes data to Apple Health works: Apple Watch, Oura Ring, Garmin, Polar, and more. LiftIQ doesn't require any wearable — every feature is fully functional with the manual check-in.
Is my health data private?
Yes. LiftIQ never sells your health data and never uses HealthKit data for advertising. Health data is read with your explicit permission, used only for in-app readiness scoring and training recommendations, and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, not LiftIQ directly:
- Open the Settings app on iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Tap LiftIQ → Cancel Subscription
Apple's complete instructions: support.apple.com/HT202039
How does the Founding Member tier work?
The first 200 paid subscribers lock in $6.99/month for the life of the subscription — as long as you keep it continuously active. The 200-slot counter increments on paid conversion (after the 7-day trial), not on trial start. Once 200 slots are claimed, the tier closes and new subscribers see standard pricing.
If you cancel a Founding Member subscription and later resubscribe, you'll be charged the then-current standard price. The locked-in rate doesn't survive a cancellation.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles all App Store refunds, not LiftIQ. Request one here: reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open LiftIQ → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your training history, custom exercises, and any data we've stored on our servers within 30 days.
If you can't access the app — for example, you've already deleted it — email support@trainwithiq.com with the email address associated with your account and we'll process the deletion within 7 days.
Note: deleting your LiftIQ account does not affect data stored in Apple Health. To remove that, open the Health app → tap your profile → manage your data directly.
How do I export my workout data?
Open LiftIQ → Settings → Export Data. You'll get a CSV containing your logged workouts, body weight history, readiness scores, and personal records.
My readiness score seems wrong — what's going on?
The most common causes:
- HealthKit permissions weren't granted in full — check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → LiftIQ and make sure HRV, Sleep, Resting Heart Rate, and Active Energy are all enabled.
- Wearable hasn't synced today — open the Health app and confirm your latest data is showing there. LiftIQ reads from Health, so if data isn't there, we can't see it.
- Less than 14 days of baseline data — the readiness score needs ~2 weeks of your normal HRV and sleep patterns to establish a personal baseline. Until then, scores can read high or low.
Still wrong? Email support@trainwithiq.com with your distinct_id (Settings → About → tap the version number 5 times to reveal it) and we'll investigate.
The app crashed / I found a bug
Sorry about that. Email support@trainwithiq.com with:
- What you were doing when it happened
- Your iPhone model and iOS version
- A screenshot or screen recording if you have one
Bug reports go directly to the founder. We fix things fast.
Cycle-aware training — how do I turn it on (or off)?
Cycle-aware training is off by default and fully opt-in. To enable: LiftIQ → Settings → Cycle-Aware Training → toggle on. You can sync menstrual cycle data from Apple Health or log period start dates manually. To disable, toggle it off — your cycle data is no longer used in workout adjustments.
I'm injured or pregnant — can I still use LiftIQ?
LiftIQ is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor or physical therapist. If you're injured, pregnant, managing a medical condition, or taking medication, consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or continuing any training program. Listen to your body and stop if anything feels wrong.
